After the international successes of the "Marco Polo", Pierre Cardin produced a new musical comedy that will debut in Piazza San Marco in Venice. The musical, written by the young artist Daniele Martini, stands out from the classical image of Casanova: it is a work that speaks of true love, pure love, because surely also the great adventurer lived this. The scenes of the work and the supervision of the project will be made by Rodrigo, nephew of Cardin, together with other designer, while the customs will be once more signed by the French/Italian stylist.

The event is part of the Venice Jazz Festival, organized by Veneto Jazz in cooperation with the Regione Veneto, scheduled from 23 July 23 to 1 August, that offers performances by the best artists of the international panorama, in the most prestigious locations of the city.
The opening is committed to the Pat Metheny Group, that crowns an extraordinary career arriving in Venice with The Songbook Tour. During the last 30 years Metheny has experimented every style that the music of the twentieth-first century could offer. Founded in 1977, only winner in the history of 7 consecutive Grammies Awards, after five years of silence the Pat Metheny Group returns to Italy bringing its unstoppable imagination and uncontrollable creativeness, that still succeed in surprising the public. On the stage Lyle Mays (piano, keyboards), Steve Rodby (contrabbasso) and Anthony Sanchez (battery).

Also the concert by the songwriter Norah Jones, who introduces her new album "The Fall" to the Italian public, is part of the Venice Jazz Festival (23 July - 1 August 2010). For the winner of the Grammies Awards, the project represents a phase of sound experimentation, with many new collaborations like Jacquire King (Kings of Leon, Tom Waits, and Modest Mous), Ryan Adams and Will Sheff of the Okkervils River, but also her artistic partner Jesse Harris. Norah Jones will be on the stage not with the usual piano, but with the guitar, played also in studio during the recording. Norah Jones debutted in 1999 as singer of the fusion group Wax Poetics. In 2002 she sold all over the world 36 million albums. Her 3 studio albums, "Come Away With Me" (winner of 8 Grammies Awards), "Feels Like Home" (2004), and "Not Too Late" (2007) reached the top 200 in the United States and the first place in many nations.

For dance lovers a Gala is nowadays a precious event: to please that exhibitionist and slightly thrilling love for the virtuosity, that is intrinsic to the art of the ballet, and to satisfy the adoration that the stars can arouse. For the neophytes of the dance it is the chance to easily approach in just one night the universe of the ballet, finding gathered the most beautiful and famous pieces of the nineteenth- and twentieth-century repertoire, together with the best ballet dancer of the moment. When a Gala of stars is gathered around Roberto Bolle, the trepidation and the fanaticism grow even more. His lightening career started after the diploma in the Scuola di Ballo del Teatro alla Scala and his entry in the Scala company, with the invitations in the most important theaters of the world welcome as guest star, the courting by magazine and televisions, the presence as a protagonist and a testimonial to the great international events: an unique case of ballet dancer that succeeds in bringing to the ballet great enthusiastic crowds. Roberto Bolle chooses ballet dancer of international fame for his show, coming from the best companies of ballet of the world, in a program that is differently conceived for each theater and representation, and that hosts on the stage, at a cracking pace, a parade of couples and solos, taken from the repertoire of the most beloved classical of the nineteenth century and from the most famous titles of the twentieth century.

VENEZIA FASHION NIGHT
Talk and fashion show in Piazza San Marco

THE EVENT HAS BEEN RESCHEDULED ON FRIDAY 30TH JULY AT 9.00 PM DUE TO THE BAD WEATHER CONDITIONS

In cooperation with Expovenice

"Venice Fashion Night" is an innovative event, that transforms Piazza San Marco into a stage for international fashion. The show will be introduced by Jo Squillo, and will be filmed by the cameras of ITALIA1 for the program "Tv Fashion". The show includes not only of the catwalk of 30 models wearing the creations of the most important international stylists, but also some moments of talk show to illustrate the different aspects of an important industrial sector, that is not only a superficial world. The dresses and the accessories shown on the catwalk will be inspired by the history of Venice: the artists that lived here, the great festivals, the Biennale exhibition and the Doges. A tribute will be dedicated to Giuliana di Camerino, "dogaressa" of fashion, born in Venice and recently diparted, who won an Oscar prize in 1956 together with the photographer Cecil Beaton.
The show will be broadcasted by ITALIA1 on Tuesday 10/08/2010 at 9.30am, with a repetition on Friday 16/08/2010 at 12.00pm, and by TV Fashion (channel 812 of SKY) on Wednesday 11/08/2010 at 9.00pm.

With her voice, aching and feverish, Patti Smith marked the history of rock. The 'maudit' priestess of rock returns in concert in our country with the Acoustic Band of the "we shall live again" tour. The members of the acoustic band are: Patti Smith (voice and guitar), Lenny Kaye (guitar), Tony Shanahan (bass), Jay Dee Daugherty (percussions), Jesse Smith (piano), Mike Campbell (guitar).
